With Congress codifying the modular open systems approach (MOSA) into law, the current administration mandating more use of MOSA, and commercial innovation that aspires to deliver technology more quickly into the hands of warfighters, business has never been better for those that design open architecture-based systems and products. Industrial participation in MOSA efforts – such as the Sensor Open Systems Architecture, or SOSA, Consortium – is only growing at a healthy pace. While driving the development of the SOSA Technical Standard, the consortium also developed a business guide to the SOSA open architecture that aims at reducing the time and effort companies spend on creating system modules. The U.S. Navy also produced a MOSA guide to help its partners in industry and government understand how to navigate the MOSA mandates. In this session, MOSA experts cover how initiatives like the SOSA Technical Standard and governmental acquisition reform can give businesses an opportunity to deliver cutting-edge innovation more quickly to the warfighter while reducing long-term life cycle costs.

This session is part of our MOSA Virtual Summit. Registration/event page here.
