Compared to internal combustion engines, the percentage of EVs versus continues to rise. As a result, the number of changing stations must increase, putting a significant strain on electrical grid. To combat this issue, both the chargers and the vehicles themselves must become smarter and more efficient. The station must be able to dispense the power quickly, manage the power flow, and properly charge the user. The vehicle must be able to safely accept that charge and consume the power in the most efficient way. In this session, we will look at the power electronics in both the EV and the charging station, as well as the software that ties it together.
