Bio
Mr. Dirner is the MOSA Chief Engineer for the MOSA Management Office (MMO) within the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) C5ISR Center Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate. Mr. Dirner is responsible for maintaining the C5ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS). He is involved in various open architecture activities and standards bodies including CMOSS, Vehicular Integration for C4ISR/EW Interoperability (VICTORY), Modular Open RF Architecture (MORA), and the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSATM) Consortium. Mr. Dirner was the Co-Chair of the C4ISR/EW Hardware/Software Convergence Working-Level Integrated Product Team (WIPT) that developed CMOSS and is one of the authors of the MORA specification. Mr. Dirner served as the Vice Chair for the SOSATM Consortium’s Hardware Working Group from its inception in 2015 until the latter part of 2019, at which point he was elected as the Chair of the newly formed Technical Working Group and has been serving in that role ever since. Mr. Dirner has over 18 years of experience working for the U.S. Army as both a Government civilian and contractor in positions including Chief Engineer, Lead Electronics Engineer, Product Lead, Director of Software Development, and Computer Scientist. Prior to that, Mr. Dirner worked as a Test Engineer for AT&T Labs. Mr. Dirner holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cornell University.
