Steve Johnson brings over four decades of experience in product design, development, and executive management within the technology sector. Currently serving as President and COO of Opal Kelly, a leading provider of FPGA integration modules, Steve oversees the company's strategic growth and operational excellence.
Prior to this role, he spent a decade leading Digilent, a subsidiary of National Instruments, where he managed all facets of the business; including product and technology strategy, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and R&D. His tenure at Digilent was marked by successful team building, financial stewardship, and active involvement in multiple acquisitions from identification to integration.
Steve also played a pivotal role in advancing NI’s academic programs and fostering key industry partnerships with companies such as Xilinx, Analog Devices, and Texas Instruments. Additionally, he contributes to the engineering education community as a member of the Industry Advisory Council for ECEDHA.
