Denis Smetana is a senior product manager for processor products for Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions based out of Ashburn, Virginia. He has more than 35 years of experience with ASIC, FPGA, and hardware product development and management both in telecom and defense industry and 20 years of experience with COTS ISR products. He has a BSEE in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech.
Denis began his career at IBM Federal Systems in Manassas, Virginia and worked on a range of hardware, ASIC and FPGA designs including Common Signal Processor for submarine towed array sonar system, and micro-channel controllers. Denis then worked on and led ASIC development in the telecom industry at PMC-Sierra before joining Curtiss-Wright in 2003. At Curtiss-Wright Denis has held a range of jobs including designer, lead and then product manager for FPGA products. In 2018 Denis moved into his current position as Senior Product Manager - Processor Products.
