Date: Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026
Start Time: 1:30pm - 4:30pm Pacific Time
Where: embedded world North America, Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA, ROOM: 207B
Duration: Three hours
Cost to attend: $30 US
In this workshop, attendees will get an introduction the QNX 8.0.2 operating system and will develop a project to run on a target Raspberry Pi board using a camera and open-source computer vision tools. You’ll go way beyond the QNX overview and get into the engineering decisions behind safe, secure embedded systems.
This hands-on session, led by a pair of QNX embedded systems experts, explores the QNX architecture, hypervisors, middleware, development tools, and the practical differences between QNX and Linux. You’ll build and deploy your first QNX application on an embedded target with guidance from QNX experts, then take home a Raspberry Pi 5 loaded with the tools to keep developing. Along the way, you will get as much tech support as needed to get your application up and running.
Who should attend? This workshop is targeted at embedded engineers with a working knowledge of embedded development, particularly with C. The session will have half instruction on the QNX OS and its differences from Linux, and half hands-on with the hardware to get a sample program downloaded and working to do real-time image processing.
Giveaway To All Attendees Raspberry Pi 5 (with a Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Arm Cortex A76 processor) loaded with a full suite of QNX development tools. Registrants MUST attend in person to receive the giveaway. Note: the cameras used in the class are not a part of the giveaway.
HW/SW requirements Please bring a laptop (Windows, Linux, or Mac).
