Precise time synchronization is a key requirement in Time Sensitive Networking (TSN). TSN provides deterministic, reliable, and low-latency communication by enabling time-aware scheduling over Ethernet networks. All devices on the network that transmit time-sensitive data must be synchronized in time down to nanoseconds of precision. Traditional protocols used in IT networks are not enough to achieve this accuracy and TSN networks therefore require the use of the Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
In this webinar, you will learn:
An overview of PTP and highlights 802.1AS
Use cases for PTP in embedded systems
Real world performance data required and achieved for embedded applications
The current PTP protocol support in VxWorks
