Leveraging Data Connectivity Solutions for CJADC2

CJADC2 is a huge undertaking, one that will take advanced technologies and novel applications to effect decision superiority. Contested networks will imply more compute capabilities and AI at the tactical edge. It also will demand scalable, resilient, distributed clouds, driving the need for device convergence and orchestration. This session will review the need for a distributed cloud infrastructure that can accelerate the CJADC2 vision, technologies and standards that will link command and control elements to warfighter edge. This distributed infrastructure hosts the new generation of cloud-native Kubernetes, AI/ML, data handling, and tactical applications on heterogeneous non-real-time and embedded real-time platforms on the ground, in the air, and on the sea. Hardened autonomous edge clusters connected via secure links in degraded and contested mode are fundamental requirements in this new paradigm. Automation and orchestration will play a crucial role in accurately and efficiently deploying, provisioning, managing, and updating tens, hundreds, or thousands of edge clouds at scale and orchestrating complex multi-cloud applications across the edge.
