Safety certification has become a necessity for uncrewed aerial systems (UASs). These platforms are critical to battlefield success for the U.S. military and its allies -- demonstrably so in the war in Ukraine. Autonomous flight vehicles are not just military assets, but are also a fact of everyday life in the civilian world. Safety certification of UAS avionics hardware, avionics software, collision-avoidance systems, navigation systems, etc., provides unique design challenges, as each system needs to meet complex certification standards such as DO-178C and DO-254. This session will cover how to navigate these safety-certification challenges in UAS platforms.
This session is part of our Uncrewed Systems Virtual Conference. Registration/event page here.
