This session is part of our Uncrewed Systems Virtual Conference. Registration/event page here.
Safety certification has become a necessity for uncrewed aerial systems (UASs). These platforms are critical to battlefield success for the U.S. military and its allies – and demonstrably so in the war in Ukraine. Autonomous flight vehicles are not just military assets, but also a fact of everyday life in the civilian world. Safety certification of UAS avionics hardware, avionics software, collision avoidance systems, navigation systems, etc., provides unique design challenges as each system needs to meet complex certification standards such as DO-178C and DO-254. This session will cover how to navigate these challenges in UAS platforms.
